On the pole, Long Beach, 1984, by Tommy Byrne in its 1st race. He took off the left/front corner while leading. I have a photo from the 1985 Long Beach Grand Prix, showing him up front, while I'm stuffing a Ralt into the turn two wall, courtesy of a bump from Jeff Andretti. I traded the Ralt to Mark Pivec (then importer of Anson) for the Anson. In my 1st pro race in the Anson, Detroit, 1985, I managed a 10th. I won a lot of SCCA nationals, west coast track records, ran selected pro races, qualified 5th in the 1988 Dallas Grand Prix, then stuffed into a spinning car in front of me. The car's restored w/ a new tub. |

On Ebay 12/19/04 - project car. This car originally ran in the European Super Vee Championship as the Swiss decals and original logbook in German atest! Competed on some of the premeir tracks of Europe. I purchased and imported this project from Germany a few years ago and have subsequently assembled quite an assortment of spares to supplement the car. 11/2005 John Street - parts only. |

These cars represent quite an advanced design for
1978, and truly incorporate much of what was the
newest state of the art in Indy cars of the era. The
designer was David Bruns who went on to be the
designer of the Swift chassis from DB-1 through DB-6.
Bruns also raced the Autoresearch Super Vee and can be
seen in the pictures on Edmunds site (the bearded
driver). |

Chassis #70040002. 10 made: 9 in 69 , 1 in 70. Has body molds(same as FF D-9). Sold as a kit to Sharp Volkswagon/Porsche in Carlsbad, California in the Spring of 1969. I purchased the car directly from Tim Sharp right after he raced it in the ARRC runoffs at Atlanta, carrying the race #1 from Southern California. In that race he competed directly against Ray Caldwell who drove Caldwell D-10 serial #08. I purchased serial #08 a couple of years ago, restored it and now I run serial #02 against serial #08 in vintage races in the Pacific Northwest. I still drive serial #02 and Russ Newhouse, a member of my race team, Mark 1 Racing, runs against me in serial #08 |

1700cc Type 4 |
Ed Givler |
MA, USA |
Jim Killion designed and built the car in 1972. Peter Dandridge, a former Brit of the Sterling Moss era, fabricated the car at his business, Atomic Welding in Cambridge MA. Ed Priebe also assisted in the fabrication. The car was run in IMSA in 1972 with log book #72SV34. I acquired the car in 1975, naming it The EDGE-TOO. In 1976, it won the first 4 Nationals. It was leading in the next national when I ran off the road and bent the suspension. In the next Pro FSV race, an A arm nut fell off sending it into a bank. Throughout the next 25 years, it won numerous races and was at or under track records at most tracks. It was NE Div Champ in 1980 and was invited to the runoffs numerous times, competing in 1978. It has most likely won more national points than any other single FSV. [see FSV forum for more] |

The log books indicate it was driven to the National Championship at the SCCA Runoffs by Fred Phillips in both '74 and '75 (or may have been a back-up car). The car was rebodied by Falconer (apparently several times) and had wings and slicks by the time I purchased it. It is currently in SCCA Solo configuration but all original parts and components have been retained so restoration could be done. It was raced by various people up until '85. I bought the car in '88. It has since won 11 regional and 3 state Solo II championships. See www.tpe-inc.com/services.htm |

Built by Jim Griffith. The first one was built and raced in the early 1980's in the VW/Bosch Pro FSV series. Later, in 1986 the GR-06 design was made of which I have the orginal. The car was later re-designed as a proto type to be run in the F3 series that was speculated to replace Pro FSV in 1990 but never materialized. In the late 80's, the design of the chassis was changed again and a few more cars were built. The last car was manufactured in the early 90's of which I also own and compete in the current FA class in SCCA. Although we cannot really compete with the newer more advanced and higher powered RT 41's and now Swift 008, we do sometimes give them a run for their money. (Ex.) We raced for the first time @ Gingerman National in 2000 and qualified the car on the front row with 1999 National FA Champion Brian French. We also finnished 4th over-all and in class at the June ROC National @ MidOhio. Both Griffiths have won many races over the years and are a extreme blast to drive although each is completely different in suspension design and act totally independent of each other on the track. |

I also have information on car #HU-19, T-320. The tub was destroyed in 1974 at the Canadian Grand Prix support race. The car at that time was owned and driven by Fred Markoff of Orion Racing. It's first race was the VW Gold Cup on 4/79 driven by John T. Timarus and raced consistently in Regionals and Nationals up until 1990. Drivers included from earliest to latest were, John Timarus, Steve Billinger, Ed Kasprowicz, Mike Pinebar, Armen Megreqian. Chuck "Pete" McNamara dusted off the car in '96 for a race in Gratten but the traded it to Rich Lambrecth in 1995 when it was disassembled and stored. The car has been fully restored in 2001 to it's original state including the optional side pods. The car will be sorted out with some test days this winter with its first race planned for 2002 with The Monoposto 70's race group in HSR/SVRA. Picture at The Underground Lola Registry |

I bought this car from Wilbor Bunce in 1984, It had never been raced. It was a car bought for the team of Dave Pasche. I have raced it as a FSV, FC, and CSR in the SCCA So Calif Division. I decided to restore the car about 6 months ago. I am looking forward to getting it back together and racing it agin. It has never been crashed and is going together nice than new. I was in no hurry to get it done, but since finding out about this group I am alot more motivated. Please stay in touch, I will be at Watkins Glen for the reunion. |

Under restoration. One of the Mike Andretti championship-winning Ralts. When I bought the car, the fellow who sold it to me said it was an ex-Adretti car, but had no proof. While dancing around on the internet one day, I came across this fellow Derek Harling who has a book from the Ralt factory of chassis plates, tub numbers, gearbox and fuel cell serial numbers...here's what he had to say about my car:

Background: I have all log books starting on 9-18-80 and they appear to back up the story I got from the previous owner. Pete Halsmer/Arciero late 80/81, Michael Andretti/Arciero early 82 before he got his 82 RT-5 and Ted Prappas/Mike Curb Racing 83 & 84. Any help would be greatly appreciated. See the interesting RT-5 thread on 10-tenths.com starting at post #20 for my car. |

Research and thanks to some very knowledgable people to many to list. I have come up with a partial history. #336 was originally sent to Robinson/Talbot in 7/82 Talbot was campaigning a 82 spec RT5 car that is beleived to be the 81 fsv car of Unser. The only picture I can find of Talbot in car seems to confirm this ie. paint scheme. He then changed to 336 for the rest of the season the car apparently went up for sale in ON TRACK magazine in spring of 83. This is were things get confusing. I cannot find any thing for drivers or history again until 85 when the car got into Mark Pivics hands and was bought by John Hancock and Paul Brookes to be driven at pro races by C.T.Hancock and the reginals by Paul Brookes. It then changed hands again in 89 to Mark Winkleman for a race. Then in early 90s Thomas Blackburn with no log book entrys. Then again in the mid 90s to John Mikes to be run once in a reoginal race the Knapp Memorial. Then in 2001 I bought it and have dissassembled it for a complete resto and tub repair to some day comback out and play. |

I now own the above Ralt RT3-468 which I will be racing with VARA. It was brought here in 1985 by a German Peter Pand???(Can not read the name in the log book- any idea?) It won the SuperVee race at Detroit that year and did all the races in that series. In 1986 it did the full season again driven by Phil Kazakian. Same for the 1987 season. who kept the car until 1990 after this it was a Solo 2 racer and won the national championship in 1992 or 1993. |

RT-5 Supervee with 86 sidepods. 1835cc real legal motor. This is a Pro car that ran LBGP!! This thing is so fast!! Timed 1.20 at Willow, I have never touched the suspension since it was purchased. I am sure with proper chasis set up this is a sub 1.18 car at Willow. It has new paint, very low hour new engine; upper and lower, new cam, all bertils, and brand new Wolf computer with 3D programmable mapping. The car has had well over $40K spent on it to make it run great. I’m into this car $60K or more and I am going to sacrifice it for $25K. (ApexSpeed 11/2004) |

According to Ron Tournac's biography "Brabbham, Ralt, Honda - the Ron Tournac Story" it is one of three RT-5's built in 1988, they last year they were made. The car was found quite by accident, literally tripped over, after sitting for 12 years under a tarp in the corner of a shop. It is in the process of restoration to race trim and hopefully be race ready this fall ('02). |

It was originally raced by John Morrison. He won the UK Super Vee Championship with it in 1973. I bought the car from John R. in Fall 2000. It was a rolling chassis and an unfinished project. It was John's intent to restore the car in his original colors and compete in Historics...but the best laid plans are often unfinished. I'm restoring the car as it ran in the 1975 UK Championship. This will allow me to run the car in Europe with wings and slicks. I've had a great deal of help from three people with the restoration, they are John Robinson, Mark Lawton, and Stuart Riley. We've had all the suspension remanufactured by Universal Racing Services for safety reasons. The lower half of the tub has been reskinned. The roll hoop has been replaced, also on safety grounds. Other than that the car is as original as possible. I've been able to source an engine, gearbox and two complete sets of original magnesium Minilite wheels. With any luck, the car will compete next season (2003) in the Derek Bell Trophy (Historic). |

On a Hewland MK9 gearbox, original bodywork except rear cowl (anyone have a spare?). Originally purchased by famed engine builder Curtis Farley and raced successfully in many National events. Several year later, the car was sold and converted to CSR specs. By the mid 80's the car disappeared only to resurface and be raced again. It was converted back to formula specs and then raced by it's last owner in regional SCCA Club events. Current owner purchased it in December 1996. Raced it in the 1997 SCCA/PHA Hillclimb series, breaking several class record, setting one FTD and winning the East Coast Solo 1 Championships. See www.sevenwaves.com/rolfpic.html for pictures |
