Wisdom's Table (1988)

Based on Proverbs 9

This work depicts both Wisdom's house of seven pillars and Wisdom's banquet table. Many stories associated with Jesus are based on earlier stories from Wisdom literature. In Proverbs Wisdom gives a feast and invites her friends, only to have them refuse. Outsiders are then invited to fill the banquet. Wisdom's table is attended by people of all ages, races, and both sexes. All are welcome to be nurtured at the bounty of her table. Collage and embroidery. 42" x 20".
