Tsagiglal (She Who Watches)

A woman's face featuring large round eyes and a large smiling mouth is found carved into rocks in many locations along the Columbia River basin on the Oregon-Washington border. The meaning of this image has been lost but the haunting smile connects us with these ancestral people. (2000)
