The Good Seed (1996)

The Good Seed tapestry expresses the life and potential growth inherent in a seed. Here the seed can be viewed as the interior of a bulb, which contains the flower ready to burst forth into full life. Recalling Matthew's parable of the good seed, this image carries multiple layers of meaning and possibility for both the planting and nurturing of good spiritual seed in the soil of theological education. This piece was commissioned by Andover Newton Theological School, where it is displayed in the entrance to Dabney Hall, the main administrative building. 30" x 40"
