Ancient Brokenness:

From Baghdad to Richland Creek

Created as a Lenten meditation in 2003, this composition is made from materials gathered along Richland Creek near my home in Waynesville, NC, and pottery shards brought back from Iraq by a friend who was visiting there shortly before the war. The tablet-like construction suggests a common heritage fraught with conflict.
