William R. Mitchell, Jr. Publications as of Sept. 2004

I conceived the name of my firm in 1977:  incorporating it in 1984 when I published an architectural monograph, under that label, Lewis Edmund Crook,  Architect.  The design above comes from that book, the swag was designed by Lewis Crook and the Greek-key frets on either side of the design is a Crook signature. In 1998, when I founded the non-profit, Southern Architecture Foundation, Inc., I changed the legal status of the firm to a limited liability corporation (LLC).  I have published numerous books in which this appears on the copyright page: "conceived and initiated by William R. Mitchell, Jr., for the History Business, Atlanta".  Among these are Edward Vason Jones, Architect, Connoisseur, and Collector, in 1995, and J. Neel Reid, Architect, in 1997.  A current project on this sort is a series of publications for Keith Summerour and Associates, Architects.  For further information regarding this and other projects see the Publications list below.  The publications marked with an asterisk (*) are available through Golden Coast Publishing Company.  I am called on for research projects of various kinds and to give lectures on my publications in the field of architectural history.
