A Few Hints: Use the Site map to go from web page to web page. Use "Find" ("control" key plus "F" key) to get a window in which you can type a word or number that you want your computer to find for you on a web page. Highlight a part of a web page and use the "selection" option in print window (select "File" at the top left of the screen and then select "Print") to print the highlighted part of the web page. Most of the pages on this web site contain historical information about the development of the families of the people of the United States of America. No one person can claim credit for all of the research which has been required to collect the data which I have analyzed and am disseminating on this web site. Other than my personal research, inherited information which my parents researched, and sometimes information from the books of the Sigler Family Organization edited by Robert Howard Sigler and Gregory L. Watson, I have given credit for my sources. If an author does not give credit to his or her sources then the author not only takes credit for the source's correct information but also for the source's mistakes. That would be unfair to both the source and the author. This is our history and is meant to be read and disseminated by anyone who desires to do so. However, if material from this web site is copied, printed, and/or published on other web sites, in books, or in research papers it would be very much appreciated if I and this web site were given credit as being the most immediate source for the material. A link to this web site would also be appreciated.

Link Sigler Tappana Descendents by Dolores Marlena This page is a cultural geography of the descendents of Jacob and Margaret. It is based on heartlands, the regions where the descendents established their homes and buried their ancestors.
Jacob and Margaret were the first generation and established the West North Carolina Heartland. The second generation established the West Kentucky - South Illinois Heartland, East Tennessee Heartland, Central Illinois Heartland, and Central Indiana Heartland. The third generation established the Northeast Texas Heartland, Northwest Oregon Heartland, South Central Missouri Heartland, and Southwest Missouri Heartland. The fourth generation established the East Central Arkansas Heartland, East Central Kansas Heartland, and East Central Oklahoma Heartland. The fifth generation established the South Central Kansas Heartland, North Central Colorado Heartland, Southwest Michigan Heartland, West Central Missouri Heartland, and Southwest California Heartland. The sixth generation established the South Arizona Heartland, South Central Nebraska Heartland, North Missouri Heartland, New Mexico Heartland, Southeast Texas Heartland, and East Central Missouri Heartland. The seventh generation established the North California Heartland, East Central Texas Heartland and the California Heartland. The heartlands are listed on this web page in the order in which they are presented in the preceding paragraphs. The Geographic Origins chart below is also a navigation chart for this web page. Select a heartland and click on the state abbreviation. The entire page prints out as about thirty pages on my printer when I use Netscape. If you print out the entire web page, the chart below is an excellent place to write the numbers of the pages on which the heartlands begin.
GEOGRAPHIC ORIGINS OF THE HEARTLANDS
WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA HEARTLAND
Family legend says that three Sigler brothers came to the colonies and split up when they arrived. One of those brothers may have been Jacob (1736-1817). We have found him first in Loudoun County, Virginia. We then find that he moved with his wife (Margaret), five sons (Philip, John, Laurence, David, and Jacob) , and three daughters (Margaret, Mary, and Catherine) to Rowan County, North Carolina. Another son (George) and daughter (Elizabeth Betsey) were born in North Carolina. Jacob died in North Carolina and is buried in the Renegar Cemetery in Iredell County.
WEST KENTUCKY - SOUTH ILLINOIS HEARTLAND
The West Kentucky - South Illinois heartland with its extension in north-central Tennessee was established by six of Jacob and Margaret's ten children (John, Margaret, David, Jacob, George, and Elizabeth). Their grandson, George Wales, also came to be a part of the establishment of this heartland. John, Margaret, David, and Jacob were born in Loudoun County, Virginia, and moved with Jacob and Margaret to North Carolina. They grew up, married, and started their families in North Carolina. George and Elizabeth were born in North Carolina and grew up there before moving first to Tennessee and then to Kentucky. John was the spearhead of the movement into the heartland and established a way station in Robertson County, Tennessee. Margaret, George, and Elizabeth went to Robertson, County, Tennessee, first and then continued on to Caldwell County, Kentucky. The third generation expanded the heartland into Webster and Union Counties in Kentucky and Hardin County in Illinois. The fourth generation went farther to add Crittenden County in Kentucky and Franklin, Jefferson, and Saline Counties in Illinois. The fifth generation added Hopkins and McCracken Counties in Kentucky and Massac, Williamson, and Johnson Counties in Illinois. The sixth generation added Christian and Lyon Counties in Kentucky and Vanderburg County in Indiana. The seventh generation added Graves County in Kentucky.
