The following sites were active in 2007, but were not surveyed in 2008 or have been active in the last few years and the status is unknown. Sites are listed by county. Counties are listed alphabetically.

Anderson County.

Benton County:
    Lick Creek--
The status of this site is unknown. Tennessee River, of Great Blue Heron, possible Great Egret and Double-crested Cormorant, on an island at the mouth of Lick Creek. There is a string of islands that are connected at low water. The west shoals of the Tennessee River channel are in Benton County, the east shoals in Houston County (Jeff Wilson). 2006. March 7, Great Blue Heron (80 nests), on islands seen from Lick Creek (40 nests) and from Granny's Branch (upstream, right, from end of road) (80 nests), total counted as 80 nests, birds sitting on nests, working on nests, stick carrying observed (Chris Sloan, Melinda Welton). Cheatham County:
    Ashland City
--The status of this site is unknown. West of Ashland City off Tennessee 12, west end of area called by birders as Ashland City Marsh, of breeding colony of Great Blue Herons.

Davidson County.
    Old Hickory Boulevard - Brentwood

Dyer County.
    Ernest Rice Wildlife Management Area # 1
- This site was active in 2007, but was not surveyed in 2008. See Site Page,

Franklin County:
    Cowan.
The status of this site is unknown. Keith Cove Road, 1/4 mile from Water Tank Road in Cowan (Keith Cove Road is a loop, the heronry being near the entrance to the loop furthest from the Cowan highway), of breeding colony of Great Blue Heron. 2006, March 14, Great Blue Heron (8 active nests) in a group of trees above a swampy area (John Bruner).     Winchester. The status of this site is unknown, but probably not active.. Mingo Swamp, off Cole Lane, on the Mingo Swamp Wildlife Management Area, of Great Blue Heron. 2006. Seven nests visible in the trees (Archie Whitehead). 2007. June 4, (one old nest, but no evidence of any heron nesting for this year), there has been no water in the swamp for the past several months (Archie Whitehead). Archie Whitehead has retired.

Gibson County:
    Trenton
--Forked Deer River Bottom (Macedonia Bottom), on the north side of Highway 104 and the east side of the North Fork of the Forked Deer River Bridge (visible from Highway 104 looking back to the northeast) near the Dyer County line, of breeding colony of Great Blue Heron. 2006. February 20, Great Blue Heron (20 nests) some birds sitting on or near the nests, all nests in Bald Cypress. This is near the Tigrett Wildlife Management Area, but appears not to be in it (Mark Greene). Contact is Mark Greene, magreene@usit.net.
    
Trenton--Forked Deer River Bottoms, in the southwest portion of the county, near the Crockett County line, DeLorme: Page 32, A-1, colony can be seen in the distance looking back to the west from Charlie Butler Road, of breeding colony of Great Blue Heron. 2006. March 17, Great Blue Heron (15-20 active nests) in the tops of several Bald Cypress (Mark Greene). Contact is Mark Greene, magreene@usit.net.

Lauderdale County.
    Ripley--Near Lower Hatchie National Wildlife Refuge, west side of Mississippi River at Sunshine Bar, of breeding colony of Snowy Egret, Little Blue Heron, and Cattle Egret, and possible Anhinga (Jeff Wilson). Contact is Jeff Wilson, OLCOOT1@aol.com.

Lincoln County.
    River Mile 111-112 - Elk River - This site was active in 2007, but was not surveyed in 2008. See Site Page, River Mile 111-112 - Elk River.     Jackson--Status unknown. South Fork of the Forked Deer River, south of I-40 and west of Jackson, of breeding colony of Great Blue Heron (Jeff Wilson). Contact is Jeff Wilson, OLCOOT1@aol.com.

Obion County:
    Samburg
--Reelfoot Lake, on the east side of Blue Basin, south of Walnut Log, of breeding colony of Great Blue Heron and Great Egret. Just northeast of this site, a roost has developed in the last few years (about 2004-2005) (Jeff Wilson). Contact is Jeff Wilson, OLCOOT1@aol.com.
    
Samburg--Reelfoot Lake, along Ronoldson Ditch Slough area on Lake/Obion county line, northwest of State Boat Launch Area, mainly of breeding colony of Great Blue Heron and Great Egret with a few Cattle Egrets (Jeff Wilson). Contact is Jeff Wilson, OLCOOT1@aol.com.
