Cheryl and Willard Spencer
 

A Bit of Background

 We both grew up in SE Missouri.  Finished college at SEMO and Central Methodist respectively, and started out on marriage, careers and family.  We have four grown children, three grandsons -- among the top ten grandsons in the world.  Cheryl taught gifted education with elementary students.  Will is a writer and preacher -- preaching in seven churches over forty years, throughout Missouri, until retirement in June 2002. Cheryl's current great interest is in the Medieval Garden we have created.  There are a few pictures below -- but just a hint of the over forty varieties we have growing.  Bill is working part time at Denver UMC as Teaching Minister, and enjoying it greatly.

Bill's Interests

 I like to fish -- bass -- Smallmouth Bass preferably.  Reading -- Milton, Eliot, Tolkien, and contemporary novels like those of John Grisham, Philip Craig, P. D. James, etc.  We like to sleep late and read the paper over breakfast.  We are grateful that we can worship with our two grandsons who live nearby.  We attend horse shows to watch Anne ride and we go to horse auctions, where 'tack' is sold.  Now part time teaching minister at Denver UMC, Denver, NC. 

Cheryl's Interests

Cheryl is a retired teacher of gifted elementary students.  She received a curriculum award from the National Association of the Gifted Child.  She likes to teach and to read, often reading along a series of books with Bill.  She enjoys movies and she loves her grandchildren.  In retirement she works on our new home -- planning and creating our new Medieval garden.  Attends the Upper Room Sunday School class and the Elma Little Circle.

Dylan, our star soccer player, started kindergarten in August 02, played soccer in the fall of 2002.  Yes, they won the trophy.

Tom took this picture with his digital camera.  He just caught the view as he turned around.  You can see the Eiffel Tower and the heart of Paris.  A great image.
