Exciting news: Interest in our Revolutionary War heritage has grown over the past several years. The American Battlefield Protection Program of the National Park Service is gathering information on all Revolutionary War battlefields. I've submitted information about the Battle of Shallow Ford.
The Carolinas' Backcountry Alliance is a relatively new organization working to preserve and interpret Revolutionary War period history in western North and South Carolina.
Yadkin County received a grant in 1998 which funded an initial effort to define and develop ''heritage tourism'' in the county.
Sometime in the future, I plan to write a book about the Battle.
