
Isreal Morris Walterhouse
Isreal Morris Walterhouse, sixth child of Philip Benjamin Walterhouse and Mary Alice Morris, was born 22 September 1844 in Fingal, Elgin, Ontario Canada. He married Lucinda Bunn 14 October 1867 in Hardin County Ohio. The couple had seven children: John, Henry Elmer, William, Floy, Hiram Benton, Daisy Earl and Frank. Isreal was a farmer. He died on 20 September 1924 in Harpster, Wyandot, Ohio and was buried in Little Sandusky, Wyandot, Ohio on 23 September 1924.
Isreal served in the Union Army and was captured at Columbia VA on April 6, 1864 spending 13 days in Libby prison until he was released in a prisoner exchange. He was later wounded in the foot and spent about 5 months in hospitals. He mustered out at Louisville KY on 7 August 1865.
