Dr. Mable B. Anderson (President) - 

       Dr. Anderson graduated high school from Jackson-Olin on the banks of Village Creek. She received her PHD in behavioral psychology from Penn State University. She returned to Birmingham in the late 1970's to care for her parents. During this time Anderson formed a coalition to address flooding and other issues along Village Creek. This coalition was the predecessor to the Village Creek Society.


John Meehan (Field Director, Photographer)

       Mr. Meehan is a Birmingham area civil and environmental rights advocate. He has served as president of the Ensley Neighborhood Association. Meehan joined Dr. Anderson in the battle for Village Creek in the late 1980's. Anderson and Meehan's efforts along Village Creek during the 1980's eventually led to the creation of the Village Creek Society in 1998.


Richard Woodruff, B.S.C.E. 1937 (Technical Director)

       Richard Woodruff volunteers his engineering services to help reduce flooding in Village Creek. Woodruff was inducted as one of the first Distinguished Engineering Fellows of Alabama College of Engineering in 1987.
