The Light in the Darkness
Last night as I drove home in the dark I tried
to understand and see the colors before me.
I could not picture a value to define the subtle
shades of darkness.
I was seeing what was ahead of me on the road
but I could not define a color in the dark.
I watch the road all the way home but still I
could not define the shade of night I was seeing.
I wanted to capture the light as it came out
of the darkness.
I wanted to understand the subtle differences
of grays, ambers, browns, blues, whites and blacks.
I knew those colors were there but I could not
place them in my mind.
I’ll try again.
