North Florida Handicapped Sportsmen is an organization devoted to enabling the handicapped to enjoy the outdoors through hunting, fishing, etc. Our goal is to get men and women with disabilities into the outdoors. We stress ability not disability. Most of our membership are mobility impaired, permanently confined to a wheelchair or persons requiring the use of mechanical aids (crutches or walkers) to walk. Hunting season is here. Go to this link for new information regarding eligibility requirements and procedures. A physician’s signature is no longer accepted, only VA or SSI verification. The license application can be downloaded at application. There is great information on permits, ATV’s, crossbows, barrier-free boat ramps and more at Florida G&F.
