Since 1998, the HMS News Team has seen and recorded the events and changes at
Harlem
Middle School
. They are often seen filming or taking pictures at games, dances, concerts, and community events. However, the actual recording of events is just a small part of the duties of a news team member. The members produce and present the daily morning news. They also create News Specials for special events. The "behind the scenes" work is an intense, complicated process that calls for cooperation among the members, dedication to quality, and careful attention to detail.
This year ten students make up the
newsteam
.
Their job titles include:
anchorperson, producer, editor, and writer.
They each are able to run the camera, the
titlemaker
and mixer to produce the news daily.
