The Dogs of
Sitze-Gou
( An AKC
Registered Kennel Name )
Here at Sitze-Gou I strive
to breed the best possible over-all dog. One that meets the standard
for the breed, is sound
of mind and body, and is one that is more than competative in the U.S.
show ring. I specialize
in smooth coated chow chows yet
a good rough coated chow chow will
not be
overlooked. The second
breed here at Sitze-Gou that is gaining a foothold is the Shiba
Inu, an ancient
hunting and companion
breed of Japan. Together these two breeds of the orient grace my home
and bring me great joy
both in the show ring with thier successes and in my life as complete companions.
Health Certifications
The dogs that we breed
are cleared of many health maladies (yet not all dogs are cleared using
all the stated clearances) through the use of such organizations as
The
Orthopedic Foundation For Animals (hip,
elbow, patella, cardiac, and thyroid certification) and
The
Canine Eye Registry Foundation (used
to scan for heretible eye problems). The use of these
and other health scanning
services do not guarentee that these aforementioned and additional health
problems will not develop
in individuals. What they will do is give the breeder a much clearer vision
as to what dogs
are carriers and therefore
affected with heretible health problems and additionally allows the breeder
to selectively breed away from such problems, thereby, eventually minimizing
the rate of incidence within his breeding gene pool.
Breedings and Contracts
I breed infrequently, usually
producing a litter a year, but do so under the guidelines set forth by
the
National
Shiba Club of America code of ethics and The
Chow Chow Club Incorporated code of ethics.
Eventhough my main goal
is to produce competative exhibits for the conformation ring I do have
companion
dogs of both breeds available.
All dogs are placed with legally binding contracts. All companion dogs
are placed
with spay/neuter contracts
with the belief that only show quality specimens are breed quality specimens.
