Steve's Bio

 2004

Hurricane Blanche sparked my initial interest in weather. She was a category 1 storm that went over Nova Scotia in the mid 70's. I was nine, watching this nasty hurricane come across when all of a sudden the Sun came out. The eye was overhead. Unforgettable.

I grew up in the Canadian Maritimes. Most of my family still lives there.  I have a Science Degree in Math/Physics. Then I went on to the Meteorology program at Dalhousie University. I worked with the Weather Service, then interned for a private company that did north Atlantic oil rig forecasting, and made the switch to TV when a News Director invited me in. Thanks Bill. So here I am in sunny South Florida, the land of palm trees, warm temperatures, and golf courses as far as the eye can see.
