The Wiccan/Pagan Poll Final Results
The majority of Witches and Pagans-- 65% --are between the ages of 18 and 39, showing a marked change in the rise of newer seekers. This supports the supposition that Neo-Paganism is the fastest growing religious movement in the United States.
The "voter" percentages are based upon responses from
U.S. citizens 18 years of age or older. Witches and Pagans demonstrate a
strong belief in the power of the individual through active participation
in the democratic process
The ratio of women to men is approximately two to one:
Witches and Pagans serve their country, with what
appears to be a higher percentage of women among the armed forces than the
national average.
Yes, we are everywhere, and are represented in every state, the
District of Columbia, all the provinces of Canada, and beyond:
There were a few recurring questions concerning this poll; the answers follow:
- There was a mechanism in place to thwart "stuffing" the poll.
- We understand that there were individuals who did not wish to be "categorized." The categories we selected were designed to include the broadest range of individuals while still being meaningful.
- For the purposes of this poll, the subtleties between Witch and Wiccan were not germane.
