Welcome to Sheet  Metal Workers Local #5 which is made up of approx. 1000
                                                      Building Trades and Production members serving East Tennessee, including
                                                      three counties in Georgia, nine counties in Virginia and the entire state of
                                                      North Carolina. Local #5 has offices in Knoxville, Chattanooga and Greensboro 
                                                       N.C. We have a Business Manager and two Business Representatives 
                                                      who's primary job  is to represent and assist Local #5 members in obtaining 
                                                      employment and manage the daily operations, including the very important role
                                                      of recruiting new members, organizing contractors and working with the local 
                                                      JATC to provide education and safety training for apprentices and Journeymen. 
                                                      We also have appointed Organizers who's duties consist of working with and 
                                                      educating non union employee's in the benefits of Union Membership as well as           
                                                      meeting with contractors to show them the many benefits of becoming signatory.   
                                                      The Organizers play a vital role in recruiting and acquiring Apprentices for the 
                                                      enrollment into the Apprenticeship program.
