		Barranquilla is the quarter city of Colombia in population and importance, is the capital of the Department of the Atlantic located at north of Colombia. Barranquilla, the most important city of the Colombian Caribbean, has been the pioner of many important events in our country.

		Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, born in Barranquilla, Colombia on February 2, 1977, known simply as Shakira, is an internationally famous singer and songwriter.
		The Carnival is the most popular and important party that Barranquilla has. It is also the happiest and most liberal one, where the strongest creative and festive spirit is demonstrated. This is the party in which the most joy, and dignity is presented, and best of all, it is the party in which we all can participate. Each dance, like the popular cumbia, each costume, each person takes part of this in order to make it the best spectacle to the observer.
