"This is my 1974 Standard Beetle Sun Bug, Gert. She was purchased new by me in August, 1974 at Gossom Motors in Metairie, LA. The sale price was $2901.00 plus tax, title, and license.

She has never been wrecked, and was in daily service until June 1991. She is all original down to the shift knob and rear lid emblem. She even has her original license plate from 1974.

I put her in my work shop 07/03/00 to begin the restoration. A quick look-over showed that the pan is good except for the battery tray.

I will do a body-off resto. My target completion date is 07/04/01."
