I am
searching for any information on the family of DUNCAN BOHANNON (children later
changed spelling to Buchanan).
WILLIAM
HENRY was my g.g.grandfather and died of typhoid
in 1864 in a Civil War hospital in

found a marriage record for MATANA GODBEE and WILLIAM H. BUCHANAN, April 3,
1862, Pierce Co.
The only
other reference to WILLIAM'S wife is a list
of Civil War Widow's who received a Salt Ration in Pierce Co. in September of
1864 - a few months after William died. She is listed as "Anna"
Buchanan (assume it's a nickname for Matana) My g.grandmother, ANNIE
BELLE (ANNA, BELLA) was born in Feb. of 1865. She was raised by her
Buchanan family so I've always assumed that her mother died either in childbirth
or early in my g.grandmother's life.
BELLA
BUCHANAN is found in the 1880 Pierce Co. Census, AGE 15, living in
the home of WILLIAM R. MALLON and his wife JANIE BUCHANAN (sister to William H.
and Wesley W. Buchanan).My great grandmother was "keeping house', helping
to care for the two young MALLON children, TINIE AND ALLIE MALLON. I am
certain that "Bella" Buchanan is my Annie Belle Buchanan as these same two children later signed pages in her autograph
book when they were a little older.

I have many Peyton L. or
Peyton Lisby Wades in my Family Tree Program, but
here is one that I can't determine who his father was. This Peyton L. was
born 1885 in GA.
I
found him with his mother in the 1900 Pierce Co., GA Census, but his mother was
widowed. There is no 1890 census and I could not find his mother, Susan
L. Wade in the 1880 one. Peyton married Mamie Sweat.
