The question, "who is Jesus",
may seem obvious, but down through the ages, who he is, has lost it's
meaning through the "DOCTRINE OF MAN" (Matt. 15:9). Man has taken the
"principles" of Jesus, and "related" them to NATURAL THINGS. They have
forgotten the Spiritual Truths that Jesus came to establish, and have made
them of "none effect". Taking the Spiritual Things of God, and teaching
them as if they were natural (Rom 1:23). The "WORD" came in Flesh to
establish "Itself" in the Spirit. "That was not First, that which is
Spiritual, but that which is natural" (Cor. 15:46). One of the Laws of
God, was that God, though he could establish anything, he first had to
establish it in the "natural". An example is the "creation" of the first
"natural man", Adam. God created man from the dust of the earth. The MAN
was "natural" and "dormant", with no life within him. And then, MAN
received the image (likeness) of his Father, the Spirit. Paul used the
"first" Tabernacle, to explain the "Heavenly" Tabernacle. The WAY into the
"Holiest of All" was not yet made manifest, while as the First Tabernacle
was yet standing: which was a "figure" for the time THEN present (Heb
9:8,9). He had to take away the first, that he may establish the second
(Heb 10:9). This is why the invisible (spiritual) things of him from the
creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things
that are made, even his eternal Power and Godhead. Surly, we are without
excuse (Rom 1:20). This is why the things that were, are our
"School-Master". But when we come to the knowledge of the Revelation of
Jesus Christ, through faith, we no longer need our "School-Master" (Gal
3:24,25; cf. 2Cor4:18; Ecc 3:15).
"The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us (Jn. 1:14). The Word was with
God and the Word was God (Jn 1:1). The WORD could not be established
within man, without first creating an "Earthly Creature" that could house
him. This was Jesus, the "Firstborn" of many brethren (Rom. 8:29; Col.
1:15) The same "principle" that God used with the "earthly " Tabernacle,
he now had to use with his Only Begotten Son. God's way into "Mankind"
could not be made manifest while the first "HOUSE" (Body of Christ) was
yet standing. God had to "take away" the "first" House (natural), so that
he could establish the "second" House (spiritual), the Church, the Body of
Christ. After Jesus had established God's will on earth, his "MISSION" was
finished (Jn. 17:4). Paul recognized this Law of Truth, and said, "that we
know Christ AFTER THE FLESH, NO MORE" (2 Cor. 5:16), and goes on to teach,
that we MUST know Christ, AFTER THE SPIRIT, for all things of God, which
are invisible (spiritual), was created from the things which now are.
There is nothing within the Spiritual Realm, that was not created first in
the natural (Rom 1:20). This is one of the "principles" of God.
As a matter-of-fact, what I am now teaching, is one of the principles of
Christ. The Apostles taught this almost two thousand years ago, but it
seems, as you look around today, the Children of God has not matured and
"gone on" to perfection. They have made the "incorruptible" God, into an
IMAGE of "corruptible" man (Rom 1:23). They have taken the incorruptible
things which Jesus established, and CHANGED them to corruptible things,
wrestling them to their own destruction (2 Pet 3:16). To understand "who
Jesus is", is to know that first, he is OMNIPOTENT (Matt. 28:18),
OMNISCIENT (Jn. 2:24), and he is also OMNIPRESENT (Heb 13:5). He is
Almighty, with Infinite Awareness, Understanding and Knowledge. He is
present in all places, at all times. He is COMPLETE in us, and WE in him (Jn.
1:16; Col. 2:10). He is our Blessed and only Potentate (1 Tim 6:15), the
POWER of God (1 Cor 1:24). Jesus came to establish the Truth, that he is
our Great Shepherd, and we, his "sheep". We know his voice, and are not to
follow or listen to another. We are taught by the Word, that we, the
Children of God, are the "sheep" and Christ is our "shepherd" (23). We
will know his voice, and he will go before us, and we will follow him. A
stranger we will not follow, for we will not know a strangers voice(24).
Jesus warned us against following FALSE PROPHET'S (shepherds) (25). Jesus
says, "that he is the door and all that enter shall be saved". And all
that came before him (false prophet's) the sheep did not hear (26). Jesus
is our Good Shepherd (Potentate), he knows us and we know him, and we will
follow ONLY HIS VOICE (Jn. 10:4,14,27).
It was prophesied, that he was to be our LEADER and COMMANDER (Isa 55:4).
If that is so, then we have NO ONE over us except HIM. We follow NO OTHER
LEADER or COMMANDER. We have NO OTHER POTENTATE. He can deliver us (Rom
11:26). Who is this Man that is EQUAL with God (Phil. 2:5,6), the Bishop
of our souls (1 Pet. 2:25)? Who besides Jesus can counsel us , lead and
guide us in ALL TRUTH? There is NO OTHER besides him. He is the ONLY and
True Vine (Jn.15:1). No matter whom you CLAIM to "have", without Jesus,
you can do(or have) nothing (Jn. 15:5). This Man, Jesus, is our
INTERCESSOR (Rom 8:34), the one and only MEDIATOR between us and God (1
Tim. 2:5). Jesus is the HEAD over ALL THINGS (Eph. 1:22; 4:15). We are HIS
BODY (1 Cor 12:12), of HIS FLESH and of HIS BONES (Eph. 5:30). Paul said,
"For by one Spirit, we are baptized into one Body" (1 Cor. 12:12,13), the
Body of Jesus Christ, and we are given to drink into one Spirit, (or
partake of one Spirit Eph. 4:4), the BODY OF CHRIST and the SPIRIT OF GOD.
As many as are led BY the Spirit of God, they are the Sons or God (Rom.
8:14). Again, I BRING TO YOUR REMEMBRANCE, WE CAN NOT BE LED BY TWO
DIFFERENT DEITIES.
Let us not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, whereby we are sealed unto the
day of redemption (Eph. 4:30), sealed with the Holy Spirit of Promise
(Eph. 1:13; 2Cor.1:22). The Spirit that we are sealed by, and the Spirit
of God, are the one and the same Spirit. Paul said, "the Spirit of GOD
dwells within you, and if you don't" have the Spirit of CHRIST, you are
none of his" (Rom. 8:9). If the Spirit of GOD that raised Jesus from the
dead DWELL in you, he shall QUICKEN (restore Life to) your mortal
(natural) body by HIS SPIRIT (Holy Ghost) that dwells in you" (Rom. 8:11).
No wonder, the bible does not teach a Trinity. If Jesus is all this, we
would not need a "third person". For we can ONLY be LED by THE SPIRIT OF
CHRIST.
Here, I would like to bring to your attention, some of the "DOGMA" That
are dominate in the "doctrines" today. Some believe that the Holy Ghost
(or Holy Spirit), MAY BE THOUGHT OF as the LINK between Christ and his
Church. The SPIRIT being the agency by which Christ guides it's Life. The
bible teaches that, THE LORD "IS" THAT SPIRIT (2 Cor 3:17). Christ does
NOT need a "link" or an "agency" to keep him in "touch" with his Church,
because CHRIST IS THE CHURCH (Eph. 1:22,23; Col. 1:24). We are "members"
of the CHURCH, which is his Body. This is a Great Mystery but I speak of
Christ and his Church (Eph. 5:30,32). He that is "joined" unto the Lord is
"one" Spirit (1 Cor. 6:15-20; Jn. 15:1-10; 2Cor. 5:17; 1 Jn. 2:6). YOU CAN
NOT DIVIDE CHRIST FROM HIS BODY (the Church). Paul asked the question, "Is
Christ divided"? I think that we all know that he is not.
Another man-made doctrine, is what is known as "the five Paraclete
sayings" (Jn. 14:15- 17; 14:26; 15:26,27;16:5-11 and 12-15). They say that
this constitutes (establishes) the "statement"of the "person" and work of
the Holy Ghost, and that we are to THINK of the Holy Ghost as a "fully
personal BEING". If the Holy Ghost is a personalized "being", then why is
HE not mentioned in the Word of God (bible)? Why is HE not taught by Jesus
or the Apostles? (suggest that you confer Jn. 10:38; 14:10,18,20-23,28;
15:4,5;17:11,21-26; 2 Jn. 9) They say that the "High Watermark" on the
teachings of the Holy Ghost is reached in John chapters 14- 16. The
"teachings of the Holy Ghost" HAS reached it's "High" in John chapters
14-16, but it also takes the Holy Ghost to REVEAL it (1 Cor. 2:10). The
"carnal" mind can only come-up with a dogma as this "doctrine" is trying
to teach, because the "carnal" mind can not "discern" the Things of God (1
Cor 2:14), but God HAS revealed the mysteries to the one's that has HIS
Spirit (Matt. 13:11-13). I believe that Jesus left no doubt, when he said,
"that all believers may be one, as God is in him, and he in God, and they
one in us, that we may be made perfect as one in them" (Jn. 17:21-26),
when Jesus said, "he is in the Father, and the Father is in him, and we
are in them, and they are in us"; he made it very clear that there was no
other in us besides him and the Father (as one) (Jn. 10:30). You will
notice that nowhere in the scriptures does it mention a THIRD "Fully
Personal Being".(Jn. 12:45; 14:7-11; 18:21,23) Again, I say, "you can not
divide Christ". Some think that it is not improper to think of the Holy
Ghost as the "Alter Ego" (other self) of Christ, continuing, developing
and complementing the earthly teachings of Jesus. Of course, they are
right, although they do not have the complete revelation of the Spirit of
Christ. They are right in presuming that both, Jesus Christ and the Holy
Ghost were sent by the Father (Jn. 14:24-26), proceeded from him (Jn.
16:27; 15:26), and derive their authority from him (Jn. 14:10; 16:13),
both teach (Jn. 7:14; 14:26), bear witness (Jn. 8:14; 15:26) and convict
the world of sin (Jn. 3:18-20; 16:8-11).
Jesus said, "the Comforter, which was to come, was ALREADY present" (Jn.
14:17). And indeed he WAS the ONLY Comforter that was with them, was Jesus
himself, and he knew that he would "return" (in the Spirit), and he would
not leave them comfortless (Jn. 14:18). You must UNDERSTAND and BELIEVE
that we have only ONE Comforter (Paraclete), Jesus Christ himself (1 Jn.
2:1). I would like to add here, that the English word "paraclete", is a
transliteration of the Greek word "Parakletos", meaning , COMFORTER,
COUNSELOR, ADVOCATE, INTERCESSOR OR HELPER. It would seem that John knew
who Jesus was, and he is the same today as he was then (Heb. 13:8). Jesus
describes himself as performing the SAME functions implied by the word "Paraclete".
In John 14:16, Jesus says, "I will pray the Father, and he will give you
"another" Comforter" (Paraclete). Jesus, while still on earth, WAS THE
COMFORTER IN FLESH (Jn. 14:27; 16:33). If you will notice, when Jesus
said, "ANOTHER" (the Greek word for "another", also means "different", as
it also does in English, see dic.), he was speaking of HIMSELF AS
COMFORTER in the "Flesh", and HIMSELF AS COMFORTER in the "Spirit", which
had not yet come. Jesus knew the "DIFFERENCE" between the "Natural" and
the "Spiritual" (1 Cor. 15:44). It is sown a natural Body, it is raised a
Spiritual body. The natural body is flesh, the Spiritual body is "ANOTHER"
completely "DIFFERENT" body. If there was no "difference" between the
"natural" man (first Adam) and the "spiritual" man (second Adam), then
flesh and blood COULD inherit the Kingdom of God. If you did not need the
"incorruptible" body, then you could be raised in "corruption" (Cor.
15:50). But we know that we shall be "CHANGED" from one "form" to
"ANOTHER"(1 Cor 15:52). Paul said, that the predestinated would be
CONFORMED (changed) to the "image" of Christ, that he (Jesus) might be the
Firstborn among many brethren (Rom 8:29). WE ARE CONFORMED, not to this
world, but TRANSFORMED (changed) by the "renewing" of our mind(Rom12:2).
Jesus knew this, and that is why he said, "for if I go not away (die), the
COMFORTER will not come unto you" (Jn. 16:7). He knew that he would be
"sown" a natural body and "raised" ANOTHER, a Spiritual Body (1 Cor.
15:44), a body that could not be seen (with natural eyes). The natural
body, which is seen(natural), is not made with things that are not seen
(spiritual), as in "flesh and blood", the natural man. The "seen" is
"earthly", the "unseen" is "Heavenly" (Heb11:3). That which is "seen" is
natural, and that which is "not seen", is "Spiritual". There is a NATURAL
body, and there is "ANOTHER", a SPIRITUAL body (1 Cor. 15;44- 49). Paul
said, "that though we "have known" Christ after the flesh, yet now
henceforth KNOW WE HIM NO MORE" (2 Cor 5:16). Paul knew that if any man be
in Christ, then he has become a NEW CREATURE in the Spirit (2 Cor 5:17, 1
Jn. 4:17).
Paul was a man that was very close to God, and he knew "who Jesus was".
Knowing that Jesus Christ is WONDERFUL, OUR COUNSELOR, THE MIGHTY GOD, THE
EVERLASTING FATHER, AND THE PRINCE OF PEACE, let us go on to perfection,
and let us thank God, that we need seek NO OTHER. For truly he is our God
and Saviour.
