Hoover Dam between Arizona and Nevada

P6443 21OCT2006 Steve and Mary Cain vacationing at Hoover Dam between Arizona and Nevada. The white rock edges above lake Mead indicate that the water level is about 100 feet below the highest lake level.

P6440 21OCT2006 Hoover Dam on border between Nevada and Arizona. Lake Mead is above the dam which is fed by the Colorado river. I believe the dam is about 700 feet high and built between 1931 and 1935. Steve and Mary Cain were vacationing at the Grand Canyon.

The Condo in Flagstaff Arizona

P6447 22OCT2006 Fairfield timeshare unit where we stayed in Flagstaff AZ. Photo shows our rental car (2006 Mercury Grand Marquis). We drove this car 1754 miles on our vacation.

P6446 22OCT2006 Mt. Elden in Flagstaff AZ. This is the view from the front porch of our condo. Elevation is about 9250 feet. Steve Cain hiked up this mountain today. It took 2 hours to climb and 1 hour to come down. The vertical climb was about 2000 feet and the trail was about 2.5 miles long.
