Purple
Cow Enterprises, LLC is family owned and operated in Pine Mountain, GA.
The Purple Cow Cafe started out as a dream to one day own a coffee shop by
it's owners. Our journey began in 2001 when we visited our first
Coffee Fest convention. We met many contacts and realized that
starting our own business would not be an easy task. In May of 2004,
we decided to take a chance and bought a business in Pine Mountain called
the Gourmet Cafe. We knew the first change we needed to make was to
change the name of the cafe. So in a brainstorming session we came up
with the name "Purple Cow Cafe" because we thought it related to our ice
cream and wine businesses. At the time we had never heard of "Purple
Cow" but through a few web searches we found there is quite a following.
We first found the poem by Gelett Burgess called "The Purple Cow".
There is also a book called "Purple Cow: Transforming Your Business by
Being Remarkable". We really liked the name so it stuck. It
seems there are Purple Cows everywhere. We are proud of what our
business has become and proud to be a part of our community. In June,
we celebrated our first anniversary in business.
The Purple Cow Cafe employs students from Columbus State University, Harris County High School (including the school's DCT program), Troup High School, and other schools in the area. We are very proud of our employees present and past. Some of our past employees have gone on to continue their educations at Kennesaw State University, University of West Georgia, Georgia Southern University, and Columbus State University.
