What
is MPS?
MPS and ML Disorders affect major organs including
the respiratory system, heart, bones and nervous system. Affecting
mostly children, it is caused by the body's inability to produce
certain enzymes. At the present time, there is no cure for this
debilitating disease. |

Welcome!
10th
Annual 5K Run for Erin Race Scheduled October 3, 2009
Woodstock High School
2010 Towne Lake Hills South Drive
Woodstock, GA 30189
Erin, 20, is a student at Woodstock High School.
She was diagnosed with MPS III-B in 1996. The Peters family, along
with friends and volunteers have been organizing the 5K walk/run
since 2000, and have now raised nearly $150,000. The proceeds from
the RFE are used to finance research grants funded by the National
MPS Society. The National MPS Society has awarded $508,000 in new
grants for 2007. $50,000 was awarded to Dr. Doug Brooks to further
facilitate his work in MPS III with chaperone therapy. Dr. Synthia
Mellon was awarded the MPS III grant for $80,000
We
hope you will all be able to join us as we continue to raise funds
for research and awareness of MPS disorders.
