MPS
Day - February 25
"We become whatever our children need us to become,
because we love them." Amy Holland, MPS mom
With this in mind The National MPS Society has designated
February 25 as "MPS DAY". We are hopeful that families
can use February 25th to:
-remember all the children and adults who suffer from
MPS/ML disorders.
-think about the children we have lost. -think about the
doctors and scientists who are dedicated to finding
a cure for MPS/ML.
-remember each other and be thankful for the strength
and support we both receive and give.
-renew a friendship with another MPS/ML family by sending
an email or a note or making a call.
We work so hard to deal with MPS/ML by helping our children
and family members, by advocating for a cure or better quality
of life and by increasing awareness about these disorders
in our communities. Although we are scattered throughout
the country, we need our own day to help establish a sense
of Society through our togetherness. We have selected February
25th as MPS Day in memory of Katie Shine who was born that
day and who shines on in the hearts of the MPS/ML families
she touched personally and through her mom, Linda.
Please help us make this day a success simply by following
the suggestions above or by doing something special with
your own family.
