Removing the rear seat
There are lots of other great posts for this step. But here are some tips and pictures.
- Sit behind the two front seats and grab the rear seat at the front outside edges. Jerk upwards. The seat is held in place by two knobs at the front corners. The seat is hinged at the rear by a bracket. The seat itself is only a heavy wire frame with foam.
- Release and lower the seats forward.
- From the rear boot area - between the seats loosen (even remove if you want) the bolt. Once the bolt is out of the way use a flat screwdriver to pry the top of the assembly up and towards the front. This allows the seat pins to now come up and be free of the assembly. Remove (drivers side first) by lifting the seat up to about a 45 degree angle. The outside of the car seat pin will now be aligned with a notch that allows you to pull the seat out. Be careful as they are not that heavy. Repeat the lift and out procedure for the passenger side seat.
- Pry out the plastic pins (holding carpet down) (one on each side) then pry out the entire clip. Remove the carpet flooring for the boot.
Your kinda naked at this point but wait before going to show someone - it will get worse.
