Plan one - the one that Failed

At one point I had great intentions to power the entire both front doors (doors and tweeters) off of two channels using a passive crossover. That meant the I could use a four channel amp for the entire Mini. The second amp was only going to power the sub. Great idea until I got to that power up stage.

I had bought two A/D/S two way passive crossovers. The premise is simple - you feed the crossover an output and it divides it up into the mids and highs. The units I bought came with no instructions and little info on the internet. They were legacy components. It had multiple inputs for different wire hookups. B-amp, Bi-wired what did I know. The examples given were for units with switches. Somehow I forgot to clip a jumper wire in the crossover and it basically crossed positives and negatives and fried the amp. It shorted outputs. Be sure you understand these electronic principles before you add that crossover. They are good units and will work great if you hook them up correctly. Results : Buy a new amp.

I ditched the idea of using a crossover, figuring I did not need one with the HK amp doing that work for me.

Note the masking tape labeling on the new amps  (as to not get confused about inputs and outputs)

I also attempted to run line outputs and/or speaker outputs from the HU back to the amps. Gave up the idea after the amp blowup. I do have some extra pictures though of the front seat work. They might be of some value. Note the covering of everything to prevent scratching and dirt.
