Introduction Title

I'm not sure why I became the family genealogist, but I suppose it all started when my Grandmother died a month before my wedding. Mary Jeanette McCormick Banning was dedicated to writting down every birth, marriage and death in the family. Her loss at a time when I was beginning my own family, spurred me to make sure I carried on her traditions. When I inherited this packet of information from her, I really did not know what to do with it. Some of her notes I typed up into reports, so that they could be more easily read, and mailed them to relatives. Her lifelong work has been the basis for my start into genealogy.

When my Great Aunt Clementine Miller heard I was interested in the family history she also forwarded to me all her research for the DAR. Since about 1993 I have been putting my information into the computer in various programs and now have over 8,000 names. It was when I began scanning photos and documents that I realized how valuable these items are to so many people. I now have more than enough data to fill many pages on the internet.

As with all family histories this is a work in progress. I welcome any documents, comments or suggestions you may care to send me. Use the buttons below to search my pages for specific surnames, places or source documents.
