Floor pan has been trimmed and holes drilled.  Note the light gray primer outlining the new pan.  I sprayed a light coat while fitting the floor pan and removed the insert and trimmed the old pan to fit the new.

I first trimmed the new pan to place it into the hole. Next, I used primer from underneath to further trim the new pan.  Next, I used the same can of primer from the top to outline the new pan and do the final detail trimming to the old floor material.  I left as much (good) old sheet metal in place as I could.
