Membership is open to anyone 18 years of age and above living within the Number 7 Township V.F.D. fire district.
Applications can be picked up at the fire department on any Tuesday night at 7:00pm. There will be a check of your background, driving history and speaking with references. Then an applicant will be voted on by the membership at a regular business meeting on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.
All new members (probie) will be on probation for 6 months. During this time the probie will be learning the operation and location of equipment, learn basic firefighting , be assigned to a truck duty crew which the probie will be responsible for inspecting equipment each week.
Each member is require to have 36 hours of training each year, learn and follow all policies and procedures of the department, respond to dispatched calls, attend weekly meetings and Sunday duty.
