Stupid Things People Have Said To Me After Being Stopped For a Traffic Violation
I wish I had wrote some of these down because I can't remember them all now. Here's a few that I can. I'm also sure I'll be adding more.
I told one guy "I stopped you for speeding 58 MPH in a 35 MPH zone", to which he said "my foot got stuck on the accelerator."
Time changes also screw people up. After stopping a woman for speeding she explained she was late for a church play. She said she needed to be at the church at 10:00AM and it was 10:15. With the time change she still had 45 minutes to spare.
"A can was stuck under the accelerator" (does this mean she was trying to go faster but the can kept her form pressing the gas harder?)
"I thought the speed limit on all four lane roads was 70 MPH" (he told me right away what the problem was when he said "I thought")
"I thought if I got caught driving drunk you would just take me home" ( there's that phrase again)
"I just ate a big bowl of mustard greens and have to go to the bathroom"(never mind she was going away from her house and had just passed about six gas stations)
"You know I'm drunk, I know I'm drunk, why don't I give you $400.00 and we can forget this happened" (obstructing justice is a felony and he got charged with that too)
"I was trying to get home because my brakes are going out"(said after a stop for speeding 72 MPH in a 45 MPH zone)
"My brakes went out"(said after four wheel lock up past a stop sign; BAC .192%)
"I didn't know I could get a ticket for driving at night without my headlights on"(she does now)
Traffic Accident Reconstruction Links & Info.
I spent a lot of time searching and surfing looking for traffic accident reconstruction information on the net. Here are some of my favorite sights for software and free data. I hope this sight saves you time and effort. I will update when I find something else I like. If you know of a good location please e mail me . I have seen several minimum speed formula derivations. I had trouble finding one that I could get people with little knowledge of algebra to understand and follow. I found this one works good if your trying to explain it to a group of people.
