Professional Career Programs

Where Careers In Music Begin.

The Music Education and Performance classification is unique in its approach to preparing future professionals. It offers the student training through participation in classroom, laboratory and workshop experience.

In the basic curriculum, the student receives supplemental principal voice and instrument training and ensemble experience and learns methods and appropriate materials to use in vocal and instrumental concentrations, instruction in computer applications, performance, conducting and psychology. The basic curriculum is augmented by a large group of music education options. In this manner, the student, with advisement, develops an individualized educational plan to best realize a career goal in voice or instrumental specialization at any level or concentration.

Admission Requirements.

The Calhoun Conservatory of Music is a private college that believes in concentrated, dedicated music education. The Conservatory looks for indications of the student’s overall effective involvement in music and ability to learn in a structured educational setting.
