Little Rock. Citizen Greenspoon was formerly a subject of Russia.

William Josey, a negro farmer on route one,
shot another negro named Dudley at Brownsville on Saturday night.
The bullet took effect in the brain and death was instantaneous.
Josey made his escape and has not been taken yet. Dudley was
buried Sunday afternoon. It is said liquor was the cause though
details are meagre.

Joe Cabel Davis at his residence Sunday night. Lieut. Pressley is
stationed at Camp Jackson and the bride is from Wingate, N. C.
Robert Anderson and Carrie Hayes were married Tuesday by Judge
Davis. The groom left shortly after the marriage for Camp Jackson.
Houston Manning and Lura Dean Hamer were married on June 20th.
The bride is the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Hamer of Little
Rock. The groom is the son of Senator and Mrs. J. H. Manning of Latta.

B. Duncan performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of

Demonstration work in Beaufort and the groom is a prominent young
planter of Beaufort County.

Brownsville, but well known to many Herald readers, died on Sunday
morning at Mullins. Funeral was held on Monday morning at

by a chain. Circumstances point to James Jackson, the father of
the girl as her murderer.

Mr. Paul Deaton of the Herald force was
called to Troy, N. C. yesterday by the death of his sister, who was a
victum of influenza. Mrs. Deaton was called Saturday to the
bedside of her brother at camp Jackson who is critically ill with
pneumonia. Her brother was not expected to live through the night.

Deaths from influenza:
N. M. Blanton, a well known merchant who operated a store on the mill
village, died Tuesday.
Andrew Cook, a farmer who lived near the mill village, died Monday night
Walter Bethea, a young man on the John Ellen place died Monday night
Tom Huggins died Tuesday night at his home near Little Rock
A Mrs. Smith who lived near the Dillon Mill village, died Yesterday
morning. Mrs. Smith was a widow woman and had four small
children. She and the children were all afflicted at the same time.
Mr. W. J. Adams' brother who lived in the Adamsville section died.
"Coon" Miller who lived in Dillon several years ago, died at McColl,
Monday. His wife is not expected to live.
Several deaths among the colored people who's names are not obtainable
at the time.
The wife of Oliver George, a well known dray man died Tuesday night.
