We
regret to learn then Mr. John Capps, living some seven or eight miles
below the village had his house burnt last week, losing all his
furniture and clothes, except those he and his family had on at the
time of the accident. One of his children also narrowly
escaped being burnt. It is said that the fire originated by his
putting pine straw under his house and setting fire to it, for the
purpose of destroying fleas. We learn that this is the third time
Mr. Capps has been burnt out within the last few years.
