MAT1150 - This is a beautiful, blue, 1.9", anterior Isurus hastalis (Extinct Mako) tooth which came from the upper jaw. Right behind it in the matrix is a fragment of porpoise rib. There are 4 other small teeth visible in the hard matrix rock.
MAT1151 - This matrix piece contains a HUGE (for this species), 2.047", Isurus planus lateral tooth from the right side of the top jaw. It is resting on what appears to be a fragment of whale pelvic bone with some interesting rocks embedded in the surrounding matrix.
MAT1152 - This piece contains a beautiful, 2.520", Isurus hastalis lateral tooth from the left side of the top jaw. Below it is a section of rock. The black spots are bits of manganese that are characteristic of the matrix in many Sharktooth Hill fossils.

MAT1153 - There is virtually no matrix left on this piece. The base is actually a "pancake" - the fossilized disk that separates vertebra bones in a whale's spine. In the center is a 3.465", Neotherium mirum (prehistoric Sea Lion) tooth. Above it is a section of porpoise vertebra and resting on the Sea Lion tooth is a nice rock.
MAT1154 - This tooth is a VERY RARE, Sharktooth Hill, 3.071", Carcharocles megalodon posterior resting atop a section of fossil porpoise rib bone.
MAT2120 - This tooth is a pink, 1.811", Isurus hastalis anterior from the upper jaw. Present also are 2 pieces of fossil bone and some interesting rocks.
MAT2121 - This is the most interesting piece in the collection. The front of this matrix displays a pink, 1.575", Isurus planus (Hooked Tooth Mako) lateral tooth from the left side of the upper jaw. This side also contains 2 stingray teeth, a section of bone, some rocks and a piece of fossil twig. The back displays a 1.772" fish vertebra alongside several rocks.
MAT2122 - Crowning this piece are two, blue Isurus (Extinct Mako) shark teeth. The one in front is a 1.5", I. hastalis and the curved one behind it is an I. planus (Hooked Tooth Mako). There are several pieces of rock embedded in the matrix.
MAT2123 - This piece contains a beautiful, pink, 2.323" Isurus hastalis, upper jaw, anterior tooth. A pink stingray tooth, a nice section of fossilized bone and a couple of rocks are also present.

MAT2124 - This tooth is a gray, 2.047" Isurus hastalis lower jaw, anterior resting alongside a piece of fossilized twig.
MAT2125 - The front of this piece contains a beautiful, nearly 2", pink/gray Isurus hastalis (Extinct Mako), upper jaw, lateral tooth. The back side has a 1.5" pink/gray I. hastalis, lower jaw, anterior tooth, a tiny tooth, rock and a fragment of bone.
MAT2126 - This tooth is a VERY RARE, Sharktooth Hill, Carcharocles megalodon posterior, 2.835" by 2.598" wide. The black mottling on the tip is due to manganese impurities which is characteristic of the matrix in many Sharktooth Hill fossils. Outstanding serrations, tip and enamel. The left root lobe was damaged in the fossilization process.
