Most of the information presented here was taken from the United States census, 1790 - 1930.  The heads of households and some others are hyperlinks, and clicking them will present information in this frame.  That information usually consists of basic data from the census entries I have found for them.  I show the census year, state, enumeration district, page, age, and sex.  For census years 1850-1870, I provide the birthplace of that person.  For census years 1880 through 1930, birthplaces also include those of the father and mother.  The 1790 through 1840 censuses provided only the name of the head of household.

Beginning in 1850 census, the ages of all the household occupants were recorded.  The age provided was supposed to be the person’s age as of June 1st of that year.  But instructions to census takers were not always uniform, and some enumerators were more conscientious than others.  Also, the census enumeration was not always completed in the year it was supposed to be taken.

After the inclusion of census information, I matched that data with the North Carolina Birth, Marriage, and Death Index from ancestry.com.  When the two sources conflicted, I chose the information from the latter.  This source provided many additional names and exact birthdates.

There are obviously many Trivettes not shown here.  Because of the destruction of the 1890 census, it becomes extremely difficult to track many people over the 20 year period from 1880 to 1900.  Add to that the exponential growth in the number of Trivettes and the use of common first names, and it’s easy to see why I have birth records of numerous Trivettes that I cannot fit into the family tree.
