Ways to Get Involved
Helping Those in Need

Here at Mother Seton there are several ways to be involved with helping those in need:

Our Sunday envelopes can be used to donate your tithe offering that is used for regular Parish operating expenses, and donations for our Building Fund, and for Those in Need.

The collection for "Those in Need," - people less fortunate than ourselves who are in need of basic necessities due to unfortunate circumstances - has been collected since the early days of our Parish. Most of the families our Parish helps live in our own area.

We also "plant" an Advent tree in Church for needy families with wishes for special items. If you can help, please take one of the tags and bring the item and tag back at least a week before Christmas so the items can be distributed.

Our Parish also belongs to Ministries United for South Central Louisville (affectionately known as M.U.S.C.L.). This group interviews persons who are asking for aid. Working with other ministries, Mother Seton tries to make a difference in our community with events like the "Day of Dignity." These proceeds are used to help the community programs of M.U.S.C.L.

Mother Seton belongs to the Okolona Ministerial Association with several area Churches. One of the efforts of this group has been to coordinate aid to people in need. Area Churches, including ours, donate food items to the Food Pantry located at Okolona Baptist Church. All parishioners are asked to try to make donations of food items. Items can be brought to Church any time and placed in the kitchen of Church. We also collect groceries on the first weekend of the month, "Outreach Sunday."
