"The Disciple As Steward"
A Way of Life

As Christians, we are called to be good disciples, discerning, accepting and fulfilling the roles and responsibilities to which the Lord has called us.

A necessary outcome of the faith we profess is a sharing, generous, accountable way of life rooted in Christian discipleship.

The life of Jesus is our model - setting aside of self in order to be filled with the will of God.

Our Christian vocation - collaborate with God in creation, cooperate in the work of redemption.

As followers of Jesus Christ, we should put ourselves at the service of the whole human family, just as He did.

We are asked to receive God's gifts gratefully, cherish and tend them, share them in love, and return them with increase to the Lord.

A Disciple's Stewardship Prayer
Loving God, I come to You in thanksgiving,
knowing that all I am
and all I have are gifts from You.
I am listening, Lord.
Speak Your words into the depth of my soul
that I may hear You clearly.
Give me the wisdom and insight
to understand Your will for me
and the fervor to carry out my good intentions.
I offer my gifts of
time, talent and treasure to You
as a true act of faith.
Teach me to be generous
as You have been generous to me.
Remind me that every second of life
that You give is precious,
a gift which calls forth
songs of gratitude from my heart.
Help me to reach out to others as You,
my God, have reached out to me.
Thank you for the trust You have placed in me
as a steward of my personal gifts.
Amen
