Care Packages to U.S. Troops!

The Ascension of The Lord will be celebrated on Sunday May 4th. We hear the Reading from the Acts of the Apostles 1:1-11:
"When they had gathered together they asked Jesus: 'Lord, are You at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?' He answered: 'It is not for you to know the times or seasons that the Father has established by His own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and to the ends of the earth.'"
When He had said this, as they were looking on, He was lifted up, and a cloud took Him from their sight! They heard: "This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven will return in the same way as you have seen Him going into heaven!"

Mother's Day Rose Sale
Members of the Parish will be offering beautiful long-stemmed roses after each Mass on Mother's Day. The requested donation is $2 per rose or $20 per dozen. The proceeds benefit the Pregnancy Resource Center at 1143 S. 6th Street. This non-profit organization, which served almost 1600 clients in 2007, offers alternatives to abortion, referrals, friendship and prayers to those facing crisis pregnancies. By participating in the Mother's Day Rose Sale, you can honor your Mother, or someone who has loved you with a mother's love, and help promote life at the same time.
