The Next meeting of the retirees association will be at high noon, Tuesday, March 23, 1999 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 20 Hicksville Road, Bethpage, NY. Call Ed Connelly by Friday, March 19th, for reservations. Call now! (516) 694-6075.

We are investigating several places for our next meeting.

Sick List: As of this writing I have not received notice of anyone under the weather. I hope we are all getting by this (so far) mild winter in good health.

Virginia Beach "Mid Week Weekend" : May 17, 18, & 19, also known as the retirees mid-winter break. Crowds and down, prices cheap, weather is great and the activities are many. Mike Siegler has made arrangements for a four day, three night stay at "The Breakers", on the ocean at beach 16th street, at a group price of only $201 per room. The trip is open to family members and friends, so feel free to invite someone to travel with you. According to Mike it is only 388 short miles from here, a mere 7 hours with a lunch stop. The hotel is one of the best and the package is very inexpensive. We should have a fun time retelling all our old "Elevator Tails". As of this writing the brothers who expressed interest in going are Fred Ach, Art Boffardi, Ed Connelly, Phil Demino, Steve Devanzo, Tom Hayden, Jerry Matawa, Ed McAllister, Cliff Mosscrof, John Roth, Rudy Schilling, Mike Siegler, Bob Wintjen and Pete VanderDrift. Reservations must be made on an individual basis. The deadline is April 1st. You need to give them your credit card number. A minimum of 25 rooms is needed to qualify for the discount rate. Call the Breakers for reservations at 1-800-237-7532. Ask for Craig or David for the "Local #1 Retirees Package". Golf packages are also available. If you need more information call Mike Siegler at 735-2637. Other activities are planned for our group so join us for a fun filled "mid week" weekend.

Fishing Trip: Pete VanderDrift has arranged for another fishing trip on April 20, 1999. The boat will leave from Huntington Harbor. It will not be a charter as the captain does not charter his boat. Pete promises many fish and Art Boffardi will not catch the big one. More details at the meeting.

Party Time: These are some of the upcoming events we hope to have this year,
1.    Still trying to arrange a "Retirees Party" with Stanton Island and New Jersey in the near future.
2.    Art Boffardi is scheduling a "Belmont Day at the Races" in June. Details at the meeting.
3.    Two more fishing trips, in the summer and fall.
4.    We will be having another Atlantic City trip in late September or early October.
Be active, support our activities. Better yet, propose one yourself, we will support you.
