My Fixit Shop I live in Florida where no one puts their car in the garage. It is too full of other things: boats, bicycles, boxes, lawn mowers, exercise equipment and all the fun in the sun stuff. The local joke is that the definition of the perfect Florida house is a house with 3 bedrooms and a five car garage. Since I had the economy model, a house with a one car garage, it was a foregone conclusion the the car would never fit inside the garage. Too much other stuff and no place to put it... So I made a decision to divide up the existing space into a nice air conditioned lab for my computer and electronic equipment, and a shop area for my mechanic equipment and tools. It has worked out well, since I have a place to do almost any kind of work I want to do. I have built computers in the mechanic shop (machine work mostly) and fixed car parts (electrical & electronics) in the computer/electronics lab.
