The seven advertisements were copied from a book at the Broome County Historical Society in the Spring of the year 2000. They were probably published in " Anthony's Standard City Directory" during the years between 1892 and 1920. It is particularly interesting that none of the depictions of the buildings resemble the 1941 or 1993 photo of the brewery. Perhaps the brewery was rebuilt between 1892 and 1920. Advertisements #1 and 2 appear to be detailed drawings, advertisements #3,4,5 and 6 appear to be actual photos, while #7 is obviously a line drawing of the brewery. Apparently, these advertisements were from different year issues of the business directory since the phone number and page numbers are different. I have put them in what might have been the chronological order in which they were published. The last ad is from the book, Binghamton (Images of America) by Ed Asward. 2001 |
