Genesee Brewery, Rochester, N.Y.

Joseph Laurer was brewmaster of Genesee Brewery around 1880.
He was involved with the rebuilding of the brewery after it burned.
This was probably around 1884 when it was moved from
111 N. St. Paul to 345 N. St. Paul Street.
It is believed, and it seems reasonable, that George Laurer worked
there later.

Rochester N. Y. In the center of the paper label is a
picture of a ram with "Genesee" and "Bock Beer".

Printed on the left tab is:
"permit number U-219"
The "R" enclosed by the triangle on the bottom of the bottle probably was a manufactures coding and that of the Reed Glass Co. located in Rochester. A good assumption is that the large G6 is a date code of manufacture representing July 1936. This is definitely a post prohibition bottle from the mid 1930's.
