• The GS1 US is the new name for the combined legacies of UCC, EAN International and its expanding member organization base. GS1 formally combines the EAN.UCC System, into one organization with no geographic or industry boundaries. It was formally called the "Uniform Code Council, Inc." (UCC), "Uniform Product Code Council, Inc." (UPCC) and by many other names. GS1 US is responsible for issuing manufacture's prefix numbers, specification, etc. worldwide.
