Dear Community Members and Friends of L'Arche Mobile,

As many of you probably have heard by now that our Community Leader, Dennis O'Keefe is stepping out
of the role in mid September. Dennis has led the community through the process of the becoming a
Medicaid Waiver Provider, which in turn has led to more financial security for the community along with
bringing a pastoral presence to our community. We are grateful for his leadership and respect his decision
to step out of the role at this time.

The board has named a Search and Selection Team. This team is comprised of assistants Doug Rector
and Sam Wilson, board members Joe Graham, Holcombe Pryor, Anne Walsh and myself as board
president along with Maria Ziemen, OSF who will represent the Central US Region.

Part of the process outlined for us is to get a letter out to our friends as well as to the L'Arche
communities in the United States to ask if you might know of someone who would meet the qualifications
we have outlined in the enclosure. I have included a form to be filled out with the person's name, your
association with the person and why you think he or she would be a candidate for Community Leader.
Please return the form to the chairperson of the team whose address is on the form by July 9, 2004.

On behalf of L'Arche Mobile, we thank you for your prayerfulness and thoughtfulness in helping us in
our search for a new Community Leader.

Sincerely,

Kate Seawell
Board President

	         Response form

Dear God, send your spirit upon our discernment team to guide and direct them in their search for a new Director.
May their efforts be prayerful and open to your will.
Send us a disciple of your word and spirit.
All: We trust in you, Lord, forever for you are our rock.

Lord, shower your blessings on our new leader.
Enable them to be and effective minister of your loving care.
Give us the grace to accept and support our new Director.
May we be open to receiving them into our community.
All: We trust in you, Lord, forever for you are our rock.

Dear God, as you draw us ever deeper into your heart, we discover that our companions
on the journey are women and men loved by you fully and as intimately as we are.
In your compassionate heart, there is a place for all of them.
No one is excluded.
Give us a share in your compassion, dear God, so that your unlimited love may become visible in the way we love our brothers and sisters.
All: Amen

(Closing prayer paraphrased from "With Open Hands" by Henri J. M. Nouwen.)
