 Camp Session Advanced level



 

Theme- first touch- clean control- set the tone

Players must get comfortable with the ball at their feet.

Good players are very confident with the ball at their feet. 


 

A.
Coever: 15 min.
Each move 5 min (1 min each foot, correct the move, one min each foot again.
Beckanbauer: turn in opposite direction using outside of foot
Cruyff: fake shot and drag back ball in opposite direction.
Revalino: put one leg around the ball, plant and take the ball with opposite foot.

1. Low center of gravity
2. Quick touches
3. Must accelerate after turn/move

B. Receiving: 15 min.
Have each player jog 8 yards turn and sprint towards ball.
The ball is passed or thrown and the receiving player must control the ball and pass.
Along the ground/right foot left foot 1.5 min each
In the air to foot/chest/thigh

1. Must meet the ball at pace
2. No one touch-emphasize control- should be two touch
3. Get the ball away from the body
 

C. 2 v 2 keep away in 20 x 20 grid 20 min - rotate groups every 3 minutes
 Create space by using the whole area
 Keep the ball under pressure
 Play directionally - stop the ball on line or create a 5 yard area to score in
 

D. Shooting:
 2 Groups - One group by the goal post – other group 25 yards away.
 Group one plays a pass to the group by the goal whom receives the ball and lays it off.
 Player should shoot from 15 yards out. Then switches group.
 Alternate feet; put cones in the corners.
 Limit touches, concentrate on pass and lay off
 

E. 4 v 4 to two goals - one team relaxes 40 x 40-grid 15 min
 Limit the touches
 Be comfortable on the ball
 Make the ball do the work

F. 6 v 6 - open play 20 min
 Let them play - don't commentate, rather at the 8 min mark bring the group in and reiterate:
 
 

  • First touch
  • Get the ball from under the body
  • Make quick decisions
  • Use both feet
  • Be positive
