Sermon #4: “Teach the Word of the Lord with Many Others” Acts 15:35:

 

Interlinear Translation: “And Paul and Barnabas stayed in Antioch, teaching and announcing the glad tidings with also others many the word of the Lord”

 

Strong’s Concordance Translation: PAUL = little, pause, to stop, i.e. restrain, quit, desist, come to an end, cease, leave, refrain. ALSO AND = a primary particle having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force, also, even, so, then, indeed, likewise, moreover, therefore, but, moreover, now. BARNABUS = son of Nabas i.e. prophecy, son of a prophet.  CONTINUED = to wear through time, i.e. remain, abide, tarry, channel rub. IN ANTIOCH = it was called “The Crown of the East” and “Antioch the Beautiful.” TEACHING = a prolific causative form of a primary verb to learn, to teach in the same broad application. AND PREACHING = to announce good news, evangelize especially the gospel, declare, bring, show, glad good tidings, preach the gospel, good lead. THE WORD OF THE LORD = something said including the thought, by implication a topic subject of discourse, also reasoning the mental faculty or motive, by extension a computation, specially with the article in John the Divine Expression i.e. Christ, account, cause, communication concerning doctrine and fame, have to do, intent, matter, mouth, question, reason, reckon, remove, say, shew, speaker, speech, talk, none of these things move me, tidings, treatise, utterance, work. WITH MANY = much in any respect, largely, often, mostly, abundant, great deal, plenteous, straitly, the largest number or very large, very great, most, more in quantity, number or quality, the major portion, more excellent, greater more part. OTHERS = different, altered, some, strange. ALSO = a primary particle having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force, even, so, then, indeed, likewise, moreover, therefore, but, moreover, now.
