Sermon 2: “The Apostles Taught The People and So Should We:” Acts 5:20, 21a:

 

Interlinear Translation: Acts 5:20: “Go ye, and standing speak in the temple to the people all the words of life this. Acts 5:21a: And having heard they entered at the dawn into the temple, and were teaching.”

 

Strong’s Concordance Translation: Acts 5:20: “GO = to traverse, i.e. travel, especially to remove, figuratively die, live, depart, go away, go forth, go one’s way, go up, make a journey, take a journey, walk. STAND = abide, appoint, bring, continue, covenant, establish, hold up, lay, present, set up, stanch, stand by, stand forth, stand still, stand by, stand up, to place. AND SPEAK = to talk, i.e. utter words, preach, say, speak after, tell, utter, law forth, relate in words usually of systematic or set discourse, ask, bid, boast, call, describe, give out, name, put forth, saying, shew. IN THE TEMPLE = a sacred place, i.e. the entire precincts. TO THE PEOPLE = people in general. ALL THE WORDS = an utterance, by implication a matter or topic especially of narration, command, or dispute, speaking flow, utter, speak, say. OF THIS LIFE = lifetime, breath, i.e. by implication spirit, heart, mind, soul, psyche. Acts 5:21a: AND WHEN THEY HEARD THAT = to hear in various senses, give in the audience of, come to the ears, shall hear, shall hearken, hearer, hearken, be noised, be reported, understand. THEY ENTERED = to enter, arise, come in, come into, enter in, enter into, go in, go in through. INTO THE TEMPLE = a sacred place, i.e. the entire precincts. EARLY IN THE MORNING = dawn, as sunrise, rising of light, by extension morning, AND TAUGHT = a prolific form of a primary verb to learn.
